3.4e wii needs softmodding and poss update to 4.2

hey guys i softmodded a wii ages and ages ago and cant thing of how i did it

i have a wii on 3.4e and need to update to 4.2 then softmod it

any help appreciated

install homebrew channel and bootmii with hackmii BootMii.org

hi how to i install the homebrew channel etc as the link you sent leads to something else to download

on the bootmii page download hackmii installer v0.8 instructions are in the rar file.unrar the file and away you go

ive checked and it says instillation insructions but it actually dosnt say what to do :S

i have extracted it all and put it all on my sd card then put the card into the wii but when i check the sd card on the wiii its black and nothing comes up

so what do i do with the stuff you 1st told me to use at the top of the page

forgot to say the homebrew channel is black right now but if i press the home button and launch bootmii it freezes is this normal

reformatt sd card make a folder called apps put the 4.2 safe updater in there and run through hbc

ok mate this is so simple on a 3.4
watch this utube video to install home brew channel and install bootmii on the same menu dont leave bootmii as it says in the video install all 3 divx homebrew channel and bootmii
then click prepare SD

then go into homebrew channel press home click bootmii and backup your NAND before going any further

MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THE NAND AND KEYS ON YOUR COMPUTER!! SAFE

then after that you can use the safe install 4.2e from homebrew channel found here

then back up your nand again then follow these instructions
MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THE NAND AND KEYS AGAIN ON YOUR COMPUTER!! SAFE

format sd card again and extract modpack from the folder you downloaded earlier to sd card
run md5summer.exe and click verify sums and check theres no errors

now you need to install your wads.

Start HBC, press [HOME], Launch Bootmii
Multi-Mod Manager Starts (via cboot2)
Never Uninstall IOS, you will brick your wii
Select "WAD Manager" - Press A
Press (1) to "Install all Wads" - Press A
19 wads should install without issue
"Press any button to continue"
Be sure all the wads install, very important
If the wads fail to install, install 1 at a time
Press B two times- main menu

thats it nearly finished just need to install priiloader
You should now be at the main menu of Multi-Mod Manager
Select "App Manager" -press A
Select priiloader -press A
Read the warning- Press +/A to install -if needed Hold B press +/A to install with cIOS
After priiloader installs, it may freeze during restart- this is ok
Hold reset and boot wii while holding reset- priiloader will load
Select "System Menu Hacks"- Press A
Enable "Block Disk Updates", and "Block Online Updates", others if you like
If MMM loads at boot, select Manage Priiloader, Edit Priiloader Hacks, enable needed hacks.
If you don't know what the hack does- you don't need it.
Your wii should now block Disk updates and online updates



Note: Prilloader installer gives two errors-
/loader.ini couldn't delete error -106
/password.txt couldn't delete error -106
this is not a problem just carry on

thats the process i done on both my wiis mate

i followed that vid then backed up the nand

then used your mod pack from the 4.3

ive only given him instructions for the mod pack install

not the indiana instuctions that the only bit i used from the 4.3

sorry never used the modpack for 4.3 on a 4.2, i didn't know if the cios80wad would cause a problem or not,but if youv'e used it for two wii obviously it don't.
