Wii 4.3E/U softmod - Using Indiana Jones - Original Adventures

Hi,

Thanks for the tutorial. All seems to be working (from what I can tell) but my Wii's new and I'm having the reading problems using burnt DVDs.

I've got an 8GB USB flash-drive and want to see if I can use that to ensure everything's tickerty-boo before folking out for an external HDD.

My question is; is there a specific way I have to format (the flash-drive) and copy the Wii image file onto it?

I have tried just copying the image onto the flash-drive but that's not working.

Unzipping 4.3 hack

When I try to extract 4.3 hack I keep getting unexpected end to file & file corrupted message - tried downloaded and unzipping half a dozen times with same prob!

Update :-
Just tried downloading the 4.3 hack file another couple of times with same prob - extracts upto 99% then error message - CRC Failed & unexpected end to file!!!!!

Have downloaded another couple of zipped files and they open perfectly - am using trial version of winrar.
Anyone know a link for the 4.3 hack that requires no unzipping?

All help appreciated.

Managed to unzip Hack 4.3 without any probs this time.
Think prob may have been caused by me having a game downloading at the same time as I downloaded the Hack.

Completed game section - now getting SD card not present 1056964576. SD card not found 105696576 & USBgecko not found.

Am using Transend 2GB micro SDHC card with adapter and formatted with Panasonic Formatter.
Do I need an SD card instead of a SDHC card?

Yes, standard 2gig SD not sdhc. Sandisk are said to be most compatable.

I ordered a Sandisk 2GB SD from Amazon - ?3.95 inc P&P.

Will post results when card arrives and I retry Hack.

Card arrived in double quick time but won't show up on PC - am using canon camera as card reader.
Don't know what the prob is - have ordered a wee card reader off Amazon for a couple of quid - seems I'm doin' everything the hard way. It'll be all the sweeter when I get the Mod to work.

i use a multi card reader, cameras and the like dont work well with the wii.

Just to let you know I followed the Instructions in the tut to the letter and it worked perfectly - a big thank you to the author.
I'm using WBFS on my HD to manage games I've downloaded, how do I get the game cover pictures to appear when using USBloader. Do I copy the pictures from the covers folder WBFS manager has created on my PC to the SD I now have in the wii?
Also will my wii now play games in any regional format that I download?

yes you should be able to play different region games but you may need to force the region in the loader settings.
you can download covers with the loader if your using gx read here

Ok got it up and running no probs, well except for 1,

Where it says ''Using your Wii Console to the control the selection, you need select the 4th icon across (settings, picture of two cogs) To move across to this press, POWER, POWER, POWER & then hit RESET.

i mis read and was pressing the power off on the remote instead of the console, until my 12 yo daughter pointed it out
