SD CARD PROBLEM....HELP NEEDED!!

Hii guys........ ok..... am just about to do a softmod on a 4.1e...... got new sd card (2g) and im getting "the device inserted in the sd card cannot be used"
it's formatted, and i've tried it in another wii (4.2) and it works fine.
i've also tried the sd card (1g) from the 4.2 into the 4.1 console and i get the same problem.

is this to do with the 4.1.....im assuming these are ok to use sd cards without problem?

the 4.1 is almost new by the way, never been modded, and never been online before....

both cards i'm using are pentasonic micro sd, and work fine on the 4.2 console

any idea's greatly appreciated ????????

is it a micro sd in a carrier? if it is your better off getting a standard 2gig sd card with a good name

yes it is....but i cant understand why it works in one, and not the other??????.......id hate to go and get another card, and have the same problem. if i knew it would cure the problem then great...but i dont!

did you format it using a proper formatting tool?

i used the standard windows format on both cards

i have had sd cards before that were a bit picky.
using a proper tool sometimes helps

ive just used the panasonic formatter...still the same...will d/l this one and give it a go......i'll be suprised if it changes things to be honest...surely if it was a format issue it wouldnt work in the 4.2 console....... but will give it a go before i end up bald!!!

, if youve treid one formatter it probably wont.

i have had cards before that worked in some nds's and not in others.

by using that formatting tool it solved the problems....

cannot install because a newer version is already installed...

so i assume thats the old panasonic formatter.......

as first post wii's can be very perticular with sd cards especially micro sd cards get a proper quality sd card

ok it seems, that is the last idea......unless anyone has any other suggestions, ill get one tomorrow.

as already said, get a standard sd card, no more than 2gb and sandisk are said to be most compatible

OK..............

just got a new Sony class 4 2gb sd card.

ive tried formatting to fat, and also fat32.

ive tried the standard windows formatter, and also the formatter from this site.

i'm still getting "The device inserted in the SD Card slot cannot be used"

so now i am well and truly puzzled.... and yes the new sony card works fine in my 4.2 console.

any other suggestions please??? (except "throw your wii in the bin" !!!)
