Scariest ? I'd say "Shadow of the comet" when I was a child and "Fatal Frame/Project 0" in the past 10 years.

Dead Space 2 with your headphones on full whack playing in the pitch black is kinda heart melting.

would have to go with resident evil 1 original too though as the dogs made me have nightmares for a week hah.
