playing films on PS3 via usb memory stick..

Got some films downloaded on laptop (AVI files) and i have converted them using ConvertX4.....It was all working fine at first but now the films come up as "corrupted data"

Theres 2 films on the memory stick (32gb so plenty room on it) which still play fine, but when i put any other film onto the stick they come up as corrupted data, yet i have done them exactly the same way as the 2 films that work ??

The films play fine on the laptop.......anyone got any ideas ??

    Thanks people

Just use PS3 media server to stream them and it will encode them on the fly.

Not all avi will play, depending on the codec required.

Hi mate, install it on to your pc or laptop

          Code:
          [url=http://ps3mediaserver.blogspot.com/]PS3 Media Server[/url]
then pick a folder say movies in your pc/laptop where your movie or files are located and add them to the media server on the pc/laptop.

Once you have done this, turn on the PS3 and you should see the icon for it and play your files.

I think that the max usb divice u can conect is a 16gb, also be carefull with new torrents that r encoded with a time lock that stops the movie 10mins in, so read coms on the torrent if u can.

Ive noticed quite a couple of 'new' movies lately dont work properly. I can watch them on my laptop immediately after download, but once transfered to a memory stick and put onto the PS3 they become problematic.

Basically the movie will play, but for example on the film "Battle Los Angeles" the audio cancels out after 30 or so minuted and a message appears on screen. Seems like a anti-piracy crackdown.

yer Cinavia is sonys latest attempt to defeat
piracy = Epic fail by sony though

but here is how you do it
                              How to Bypass Cinavia Protection

                              How to Bypass Cinavia Protection

                              ow to Bypass Cinavia Protection

Believe it or not mkv2vob does this for you. As long as you don?t have ?Always Transcode DTS? checked, it will remove Cinavia protection for you. Obviously you?ll only ever need to do this for when you back up movies you already own. I would never condone illegally downloading videos off of the internet
