no just get a replacement for the drive in question, you will only need to get key if you change drive

You could just as easy remove the drive casing and gently clean the laser with a lint-free cloth, or a Q-tip.

I'll tell you how I fixed the same problem, but I really don't suggest you try it, since it could break the drive. My drive was trying to eject, and the motor engaged but was unable to open. In my case, the mechanism was out of whack slightly. I solved it by pressing eject (on an xecuter connectivity kit) and grabbing the tray and yanking it fully out. This 'reset' the mechanism. It didn't sound too healthy as I pulled it out, but it worked.

Try changing the drive band for the eject motor

as cunny says, swap over the band that opens the drive.
mine used to stick until i took the band off and cleaned it

I advise you tap it rather hard where the drive is over the case 4 - 5 times, Then lean on where the drive is quite hard with one knee and open the disk tray.. Was recommended this by a guy in the trade, works every time.

                              Regards.
