?20-?30 for a Phat drive, are you serious? ?15 tops should be going rate imho.
As for him not buying the kit? Why wunt he be able? If he follows the guides from team jungle to the letter or ubergeeks tutorials on TX then there is no reason why he cant do his own.
The money he would save on updates to drive fw would pay it back for him + any potential friends drives he could flash.

On the other hand, if he's not comfy with doing it then yes, get someone else to do it for you.

Slim drives are another kettle of fish BTW

Oh I agree he will be able to do it, its just if it was just for yourself is it worth forking out for all the kit and time and effort? I would say not. If he plans on making his cash back by doing his mates etc then yeah go for it!

On the other hand I remember sending my wii away to be hard modded and then again when required. I know it's not the same but now I can seem to update it by soft modding life is easy.

I also remember life before DK when I was paying some robbing ***** to change the end date from the 6 months he had previously set it at for a fee of ?50.00 each time on my dreambox 500s. So I'm kinda liking the idea of buying the kit, but ?15.00 to get the thing done would also be nice.
