How to flash a liteon via jungleflasher and dos

I have wrote a guide on the above, i have done approx 20 of these drives using above methods. If any problems/suggestions then feel free to pm me and i will add them to it.

Again the guide is really only a draft and if you dont get your original firmware before flashing any xbox 360 drive then you will brick it.

This is an old thread. This method is a old 1 before VIA driver issues were fixed.

    Best method now

X360 + CK3 + Probe V3 Covers all Phat Liteon Drives No Cuts No Solder Solution!!! Thats NO MRA HACK

Have you checkout out the Jungleflasher website?
Look through the pdf here and on there.

The pdf on the JF website explains how to update a Lite-On using the dummy.bin.
                HTPC:

                ASUS M4A78-VM 780G / AMD Athlon II x2 250 @ 3.2Ghz / 4.0gb GEIL Black Dragon /
                2x 1TB HDD.

If you take the time to read the guide, it uses jungleflasher to obtain the firmware off the drive.

You use dos to erase and write your custom firmware to avoid the VIA freeze caused by the VIA drivers. But as you stated the jungleflasher guide tells you this.

This method can also be used to revoer drives apart from hitachis that have suffered a freeze on flashing.

Yeah I know but we don't know his level of computer usage. Using JF provides people with a friendly interface aslong as they install portIO and uninstall the VIA card drivers.

But, I salute you for creating a guide for people who aren't familiar with this stuff.

No need to salute m8, were all equal and we all learn off of each other. I did that guide for those who suffer the freeze and to avoid it.

I know of few people it has helped. I will also update it when time is permited. I am also now doing a guide to flash from a laptop. Also from windows x64

If your pc wont boot usb the you will need to use a floppy disk to boot into dos.

Free NTFS Bootdisk, NTFS4DOS, NTFS Boot CD

Download that, burn it to disc, will allow you to boot in to DOS.

Once you there follow the instructions to flash your drive in DOS.
