need help choosing xbox 360 console

well i no if my friend decides to sell that it hasnt been tampered with its sat in the same place for about two years hooked to his telly but he hasnt been using a lot anymore and is half tempted to sell

but if i do buy a new box and flash it properly and it breaks in a few months will microsft no i flashed it an will the warranty be void anyway

sorry for all the questions is there a step by step for doing this that i can follow and catch up on the lingo
like i just bought my box opened it and wanna flash it excetra
for playing at home and copying free games was looking around but theres loads of missleading info

your better off buying from a retailer so u get a warranty

like drawflex said red ring of death has been a major problem over the years with 360

at least all refurnished and pre owned sold at a retailer u get same warranty as u would with a new one

buying from classified ads can be very risky with 360s , as there are that many out there that are banned or suffer with red ring
if its banned Microsoft also wont repair

Not true, you wont get a 3 year RROD + E74 cover from a pre owned and never been sent in for repair.

Best bet is now buying a new box from a major retailer, if your comfy enough, flash it with yourself but be carefull with the new warrenty sticker (paper 1s are easy to get round).

So if it develops a fault send it back to ms for a replacement, 3 years now on RROD and E74

wasn't sure about that mate was talking about the year warranty you get from the shop

they will just straight swop any pre owned console in-store for 1st year

if u want extended cover with game station it cost 20? for an additional 2years

but ur right if u get a Hitachi that's more than 3 years old Microsoft will be expecting a 60? payment 2 fix

i just use a hairdryer 2 heat up the glue on sticker and peel off warranty stickers can never go wrong then

Do you have a pcmia in laptop or express port?
The ck3 kit makes it easy for powering?power cycling the drive.
The probe only needed for liteon 73 series.

With the newer warrenty stickers, your can get away with it.

Before you remove it, ask yourself is it worth it if i brick it, can i afford a new 1?

Gamestation check for the warrenty sticker also, not sure about newer models from like argos as they usually have pretty faces working on cs tills

, youd be amazed what a good job a hair dryer does cunny even with foil seals ... cant tell its been touched

google model of laptop and check expansion slots, mine has a express port, but bought 1 thinkin was pcmia, the via cards dont comin express for laptops. If you got a tower/desktop its much easier from that

its a compaq presario f700 i had a look but cant find anything on it checked its spec and stuff but couldnt see anything unless i missed it
