I still believe that even if he hadn't hacked it, it would still be free dude. I think theres a whole lot of rumours and people thinking C4/TJ owe them something - when in reality non of those people would be able to understand how the FW works nevermind create one which will allow them to run back-ups and play online.

I wouldn't of minded paying a small fee for it because I believe one man should be thanked for bringing us the whole iXtreme FW's and now this.

Antec Media Fusion / Windows 7 Media Centre /
    ASUS M4A78-VM 780G / AMD Athlon II x2 250 @ 3.2Ghz / 4.0gb GEIL Black Dragon /
    2x 1TB HDD.

    xbox360:
    120GB - Elite - Lite-on - iXtreme LTv1.1

    PS3
    40gb phat. 3.30fw.

    Nintendo Wii:

I agree with this statement. I dont think there was ever going to be a charge, maybe they thought about it, discussed it, who knows? only them. I am glad that we can still get firmware that will be live able, wont get us banned for a while ect. I also would pay a small fee just to help them keep the scene alive, maybe a little profit for them, they do put allot of work in, + think of how many drives have been bricked, just finding ways to get drives to dump firmware.

The un finished version has been leaked AGAIN just like the IX 1.61. This is a shame really as this is what they wanted to aviod, hope the team dont see it as a down side, but they need to find testers they can actually trust not to hack it, they did say they encrypted it to try prevent this.

?My advice is dont use the leaked versions, await the official release and grab from xbins

It's a shame its been leaked. I mean people will be downloading this now unknowing that its not the final version and then they'll be the one's no the back of the team once they've been banned again!

It was going to be a paid for service, the mail from iriez and now this proves that. Your delusional if you think that this service would of been free, they have clearly stung the resellers for some cash.

As for c4 being only person who can write fw, thats bull. Many custom fws were developed long before xtreme came out, just they were not released. Only c4 has ever made his release public, and IMO the guy does deserve some sort of renumeration for his work.
