What did it say when you put the disk in the console. What drive did you flash and did you put the latest firmware on it? Also did you spoof the key over to the new firmware before flashing?

Hi it's the hitachi drive and flashed with ixtreme 1.51.

When put disc in I can hear it spinning up and console says reading and then just stops and goes to the 360 homepage bit with the open tray etc etc

Spoofing key? I followed the youtube video for the hitachi drive in one of the sticky's on DK, put into mode B then flash ixtreme and thats it - used the connectivity kit

Ye sin Jungleflasher there is a tab once you have extracted orig firware at the top once you insert the hitachi 1.51 in the bottom tab click spoof to target. This will transfer the key from the orig.bin over to the ixtreme. Each drive has a key specific to the board so you must spoof it over in order for the new firmware to read.

Small mistake but easily rectified. Flash again but remember to click spoof to source.

ok thanks so even though I have already flashed it without spoofing the key it will still be ok to do it again then?

Also with reference to burning is it correct to open the file in abgx then open the .dvd in imgburn

          Regards

Yes it will be fine. Just load the orig bin in the top manually (the first orig.bin you pulled from the drive) Then ixtreme in the bottom. Spoof to target and it will be good to go.

Yes open the iso in abgx it will run and patch. Then select the .dvd file in IMGburn. This will set layer break and burn.

You never sed which disc's you are using.

Likely hood is it's the laser, easy to fit but there are 2 types so you need to check which on you need.

I got them from c3k website where the connectivity kit came from - they were recommended on the site for 360 backups

hmmm - key already matches top and bottom but when i restored to original i couldnt restore to my original coz i didnt save it but the iextreme firmware file came with loads of original fw so loaded the original for mine back in

When the original fw is saved does it save the key aswell - what i'm thinking is maybe the original fw that came with the iextreme file that i have installed has a different key - is this possible? or will the key for mine always stay the same?

                        Regards

What is the key? If you didnt spoof the key over the first time its most likely going to be 77777777777777 etc but if you did it should be full of letter and numbers. So you need the orig firmware you pulled the first time. Always save your firmware. If you never and you flashed it wrong the first time you will not get the key for your drive back.

Copy the key and show me how it looks.

I think i might have sussed it!!!

Didnt realise i had to click on the open target firmware and choose the iextreme firmware then click on spoof source target - i take it by doing this it patches the ixtreme file with my key before i load the fw into my drive

Correct. Not sure what you were doing .

Will be fine once youve done that.
