Help needed please

69EC17EB8F8C780B0C0CA6DDD2056E02 - this is my drive key which appears at the top i then load it to the ixtreme file so it then appears at the bottom - only thing is when i then flash the drive in the box at the bottom saying what its doing it says the drive key is

0x4F00 00000000000000000000000000000000

It says flash complete and verified and normal

is this right?

You need top place the ixtreme firmware in the jf folder so it autoloads. Then spoof your key over then flash.

Hi the ixtreme i downloaded is in the jf folder - when i click on spoof source target an the key goes down the bottom do i then need to save that file as a custom fw then flash with that file?

NO once youve done that just flash it then. As long as the key is in the bottom it will flash it.

Have you tried the drive in the xbox see if it is flashed ok?

I have put the drive back in and put a burnt disc in but i just get message 'reading' then it goes back to option 'open tray' - thing is is it the drive not flashed right or is it the disc or is it the laser?

Any idea how i could rule any of these out?

I have just been reading the jf tut and for the hitach it doesnt mention about spoofing just go into mode B and click flash and should do it all itself

The key must be spoofed over. Or else the drive would not work. Try an original disc. If it boots its not your drive. Its most probably media. If orig does not boot then the drive is not flashed right.

ok, havnt got an original to hand but will try it when i get hold of one, i got the connectivity kit from c3k website and they were selling dual layer discs that they recomended for backups so i bought some.

I think i read somewhere about altering the laser on a hitachi so solve reading problems, cant remeber where i read it - do you know anything about this?

Also, any ideas why the key on the flashing is just zero's?

Firstly seeing as its been a long time since i done a hitachi i will need to test on an old one i have.

Also the CK3 is fine and if its goes through the process of flashing it is flashed.

Cant believe you dont have an original nearby .

My son has one who lives with his mother and a chap at work gave me this one as it had the ring of death which i sorted so was going to make backups of my sons games so he can play them here when he comes over for the weekend.

Could the zero's key be an error in the new jf as it is a beta version? It is strange as it does report flashing sucessful.

Is it worth trying to get an older version and trying it?

I've adjusted the resistance of the laser and still no joy - gonna assume drive is flashed and invest in some verbs - will let you know how i get on
