i find it very suspicious that beta dash was showing failed ap25 challange to all these people that tried to boot fable on the beta dash in xval

but if you did it on officall dash sec data doesnt change still says clean
so there pulling the wool over the sheeps eyes and making you think its safe when really they have recorded that bad sec data for them selfs
and make you keep going online untill there ready to press that ban button,

im just trying to get confo if the hitachci 59dj is a non ap25 drive if so ill update my hitachi and leave my other 2 litons offline untill LT+ gets here

the thing is mate, i have the tools to fix it but, it don't come off reds.

i have done it to many times you no mate. 1st time lasted 1month 2nd time lasted 3weeks and so on. i have fixed it about 8 times.

The new update does not ban you, it merely enables logging of AP2.5 checks on DVD-XGD2.5 disks (any disk produced after october 2008)

Disk checks up till now have been conducted by the DVD-Drive, the drive asks for a check on portions of the SS and returns a value, if the two dont compare the disk refuses to boot.
Hacked firmware keeps a table of these checks and because it knows the question being asked it can give the corresponding correct answer. This allows you to boot up pirated... ahem "backup" disks.

The new update does away with this system, it now sets up a system where the 360 itself sends an encrypted question to the DVD drive and asks for the correct answer, 5 questions in a row all AES encrypted, apparently just to make sure.
certain hitachis and sammys dont have the capability to respond so the entire AP2.5 check is bypassed because the NAND knows which drive is installed (hence the reason you cant spoof the drive, the 360 will think the spoofed drive is capable of returning an LBA check when in fact its not got the hardware to back that up)

The problem is that all microsoft needs to do is issue a game update for any game they want from 2008 onwards and it activates these checks resulting in the disk refusing to authenticate, you slap in bad company 2 for instance and notice that it says it needs to update the game only to realise its just enabled the AP2.5 check and wham your disk refuses to boot, your sec data gets logged and you sit on the nice little list of candadates for the next wave.

As for when the wave is comming? well if i was microsoft id hold fire untill kinect sales begin to dwindle, then press the button, i mean anyone whos just threw down coin for a new peripheral is going to want to get a new box as soon as possable in order to play it.

Rest assured if youve updated you will be banned, if you havnt then you should be in the clear untill LT+ comes out and a known list of disks eventualy begins to surface.

But ok, I havnt updated the dash nor do I take my 360 online (other than maybe to download the odd DLC) ..... But if I understand you correct, this means that people who do update the dash in order to play Kinect are now shit out of luck because they wont be able to play any copy games due to the fact that the 360 will be flagged for banning right?

But can I play newer games though? like Fallout: NV, COD, Assasins Creed which is coming out soon (copy versions that is) without the risk of the ban hammer?

Suppose I play a copy version of Fable 3 without the dash update and my 360 completely offline?

If you have updated its only fable 3 that will not boot. Other games have the ap2.5 protection but they are not live.

Although the xval is a good tool, I personally wouldnt trust it, as some people have confirmed that had clean secdata and still got banned. So flag could be server side.
