Updated and now black ops not working :S

Heard the latest from the #fw irc.

#fw: the protection has a new element to it, it's not "classic" AP25 (can't rip the data in the ways it had worked before). No other details yet.

Also read this on the team-xecuter forums from a user that's been in the #fw all day.

"UPDATE:
k3rn3l just came into the irc and described the situation in one word "problems"
when asked if it was AP25, he only said "yes and no"
make what you will of it, he said work would begin in the morning and that was the end of it."

Ok CG's is working as console thinks its a sammy, so does not check ap2.5. Four games have been updated to check ap2.5, they are:

COD MW2
COD BO
Kinect Sports
Halo: Reach

These games will not boot on an ap2.5 enabled drive. Black screen only. Although the original of the game will work fine, this has been confirmed.

There is a second update today, so could be more games are getting activated to check for ap2.5.

This update is really scary.

I've just been reading all the horror stories over on the official XBOX forum about all the problems people are having after this update.

There's a lot of people that have NON-modded consoles and even the new slim model and this update has stopped them from playing ANY games via their DVD drive and on some older consoles this update has instantly given them the RROD!!

There's also lots of reports about people not having any display output on their console after receiving error messages after this update.

Best to avoid going on LIVE and getting this update after what I've read today.

I know MS plan on rolling out another update tonight but from the amount of people that have said they've contaced MS today about these numerous issues I wonder if they'll hold fire or at least try to find a fix via an update for these issues?

On a side note - has anyone had any issues at all whilst trying to play anything on or offline whilst using the latest LT+ firmware??

No issues with Benq LT+ spoofed as sammy. Online playing tiger woods now. Will be playing black ops tonight.

Got a Lite-ON drive myself with the LT+

My sons console has the LT (non plus) firmware on it and he was forced to download the new update before he could play on Live. I'm just happy that he was using his original copy of COD MW2 whilst on Live last night after this update.

Not sure now on whether to get his console modded to LT+ or to wait to see if another new firmware is in the works for any reason - what ya think?

I would wait and see what happens. But LT+ is said to be ban safe for the time being. Check secdata see if console is flagged.

After New Dash Update 12625 the following games do not boot (Black Screen):

Black Ops 2
Modern Warfare 2
Halo Reach

This is an AP2.5 Update so naturally this does not affect non AP2.5 DVD drives (Early Hitachi & Samsung).

If you had LT+ flashed then you will NOT be flagged for a possible ban (good Job c4eva !).

If you did not have LT+ flashed and you tried to boot these games as backups then you are probably flagged for a ban.

AP2.5 Data both PAL and NTSC have been extracted (thanks to c4 and k3) and c4 is now working on the patches and testing will commence.

There will be no need for a firmware update.

Its not and never has been a fw issue. Its simply that ms has activated ap2.5 in those games remotely. As cunny has posted above, they have already acquired the necessary files and are testing as we speak. I would think that we all will be back online by the weekend.

Anyone who is not on LT+, and has used the loophole to play the more recent games, then you need to update to the latest fw immediately. Anyone who has tried to boot those games after the update, and have not got LT+ flashed will be banned, as your secdata will now of been flagged.

To be honest, i am suprised that Black Ops was not in the 1st batch of games with AP25

By judging this, i think the 1st 3 were testers, and again the popular games on xbl been hit. I would imagine more an more games to have this check activated, not to worry tho, i got loads of discs

Why did people get banned in November? Was that not a firmware issue?

Check secdata and see. Apprantly if you have a spoofed drive you at risk but mines aint flagged yet?
