URGENT !!! Help Needed Tracing a IP Address!!

Hey All, need some help fast!
a good friend of mine's daughter has had her house broken into and her Ipad and Laptop stolen!
there was software installed on the laptop that takes a snapshot of the person using the laptop and also emails the details of the IP address the laptop was logged on to including host name etc.

I need to trace the Ip address to a house or street name if possible so i cant narrow down the search and recover the goods! because my friend wants to deal with things his way ;-) he doesnt want to involve the police just yet as he would like to get his hands on the thief!

really guys any help guys would be VERY much Appreciated. i can get as far as what town the ip is in... but i really need to narrow this down to a house address or even street.

hi,,, best bet is give details to police and they will be able to trace ip adress,,,,,,, hasn,t software got a website adress ??

Thanks JCBman but we want to deal with these scum bags without the police hence wanting to trace the home address of the stolen gear.

i would go to the police really but google has shitloads of tracers IP Tracer, IP Address Lookup tool - Magic NetTrace by TialSoft software being one

or i think rupert is still free if you need hacking

have they an iTunes account on the iPad , would be easier finding that with find my iPhone app as its uses gps

smirnoff ill find out if they got itunes on it.. but will u be able to trace it through that bud?

u can go into iCloud on the pc and there's and option there , just put there email and pass in and it will find iPad and even lock it out or send a message to it
