    Hi. if it is a new PC then do not play with the partioning. the D: drive should have system restore backup files. When every system broke down you can recover it. just care about your data files. you can use windows backup or just copy paste your files regularly on USB PEN drive.

    & if you want backup whole harddrive including operating system then the gost image is the only solution. in this option you can restore your operating system & data on the new harddrive if old HDD is broken. but you can only restore old data (before the time when you create image). there are some free disk imaging software avaiable.

      I'm not sure if this would work, but wouldn't a simpler way be to copy and paste a hard drive which is in the computer section onto an external hard drive?
      Just thinking in simpler words, or is there something I'm missing here...
