    cannot delete a file

i downloaded a film from the internet its an mp4 film about 1gb in size. It plays fine but now i want to delete it but when i try it says the file cannot be deleted as it is being used in another program. Even if i restart the computer it just keeps saying the same thing. Does anyone have an idea how i get rid of this thing.

Press f8 when it's booting up

            THE TRUTH
            The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

First move it to your desktop. Go to control panel, users account. Create a new account, any name, whatever u like. Move any undeletable file/s inside the new account. Delete the account. This works on any undeletable file/s,

The Unlocker software is free and easy to use, it will delete any file with just few clicks.
You can set your system to boot in safe mode by RUN > MSCONFIG > BOOT. INI then tick the safe mode boot and restart if the F8 doesn***8217;t do it for you, you will have to do the same to undo it once you've finished.

Thanks very much mate this has done the trick- The f8 button didnt work but the msconfig thing did work.

Thanks to all for their assistance, the file is now gone.

Ok, I'm a bit late for this party.

But another option would be to install Malwarebytes.

This comes with FileASSASSIN which will remove any locked file.

It can also be downloaded as a stand alone program from here... FileASSASSIN
