hi. any recommendation on a device to watch through , don't want to drag me pc downstairs and connect through hd lead.. I have a I phone but kids like to watch .. have a xbox , but thinking of some kind of media box that's connects and play through the net ..I suppose it got to be microsoft based , at a guess thanks

Hi, I subscribed to overplay's global vpn cost about ?7per month, then select Egypt & that gets you onto the site put in your email address & password & get an egyptian phone number (hotel in egypt or make one up 10 digits beginning with (+20) 120) & then just pa with paypal. Once you're registered cancell the global vpn & subscribe to the smartdns only about ?3 or?4 per month & that's it. Hope this helps.

i have subbed to overplays $9.99 service for a month, have vpn and the dns active on my ipad - seems the ajs app only works with vpn enabled - quality is borderline watchable - slightly worse than watching sky go - using smart dns on my laptop yields better results - but when I turn vpn off on my ipad, the aljazeera app doesn't work - pop up messages of 'there is a problem with your account' 'this content isn't available due to rights restrictions' etc...

Maybe I haven't got my dns set up correctly as I think ajs can still see my IP address?

Am I right in thinking if I change my routers dns to Egypt, I can watch the ajs app on my ipad without using the vpn - seem to have slightly worse quality than using sky go using the vpn.

Im using a sky netgear router (Dg something) - is there a guide on how to do this? Or perhaps a router that will work with sky briadband?

Failing that, will probably just hook up my MacBook Pro via mdp-hdmi cable for better quality...

Hi mate I've got the app as well, quality of the stream is excellent on my Ipad2 - just have the Cairo VPN active, disable the DNS settings on the Ipad



I've just taken the option of adding the +9 +10 and HD channels, makes perfect sense for ?1.80 a month over the year

Live deleted the dns which reverts back to uk IP address

quality is poor - are you using fibre optic? I get approx 5mb download with sky max broadband

Has anyone got the latest android Aljazeera sport live .apk file ?? The version I have just will not play video .... I think its a outdated version

I'm useing a gbox midnight android box & get the same problem with the app, however I can still access & watch going through the website with just the smartdns.

Hi, it's in the google play store or if you go to the al jazeera site it points you to the same; updated 16th July 2013. 5.2mb. version 2.0.1. android 2.2 & up required. I suspect you will need an egyptian google account to access it. Hope this helps.

Any news on the prices of the Full Sports package listed there on the right? Six HD channels all showing the EPL sounds amazing and anything below $150 a year would be a bargain.

How's the quality on HD? If I'm not mistaken, the channels circled with green are mainly English, including the pundits etc. whereas the ones in red are Arabic. Is there English commentary available on all the channels even as a secondary language or are all the red channels in Arabic only? Seen mixed info on this so something concrete would be nice.

I have AJS running on my ipad, without running overplay VPN or using the smart DNS settings the picture on the first two sports news programmes is fine, I would say as good as ADMC last year, I run into problems when I change the DNS settings to enable the smart DNS to run, I then find either the sports news channels fail to load or the picture is unwatchable. Reluctant to sign up to AJS unless I can get a decent quality pic which I'm sure I won't be able to get without either VPN OR Smart DNS running to mask my IP.....anyone else found the same or am I doing something wrong? Had no problems with admc last year running smart DNS through overplay.

So JSC is down for maintenance and will be back up with the full correct packages (at last)....I found this link JSC Sports +1-+8 System which has doubled in price since i checked around a month back after seeing that admc had lost the contract and it says AlJazerra 1-8 and JSC Sports 1-10.Imsure once the season kicks off will be streaming as the same as admc........

$135 for a 'season pass' wonder is it worth having a punt on? Think I'm gonna try a $19 first month sub and see how it goes.
