Dry disabling some non essential items from your PC. What's the spec on your graphics card ?

      Is this any help?

I wouldn't know where to start on what 'non essential items' are...

Looking at that does not really tell me much, but I recon you are using a laptop with poor graphics. If you are running windows 7, what is the performance rating of your laptop ??

The rating is 3.3. I'm not sure how to find the graphics spec.

Is that 3.3 overall, or is that the reading for your graphics ? It does seem pretty low to be honest, is anyone reading this thread managed to get a good picture with a reading of 3.3 ?

Gonna buy a new one. What should I buy? Basically for web browsing and stream ADMC. Needs to have HMDI out aswell.

In my opinion, you are better off getting a desktop. They can be upgraded easily, and are a lot easier to repair. I am not that clued up on laptops.

Is there not like a cheap HD media player thing I could buy? Directly for streaming ADMC to the TV?

I use a HTPC to watch ADMC on my 42" Sony TV, it cost me roughly ?230 build, and I have to watch football from ADMC in 800 x 600 resolution because the built in graphics struggle with ADMC in 720p, although XBMC runs well on it and plays .MKV files with no problems. You need to spend some ??? to get it bang on.

                    I use one of these

Ok, cheers. I saw an Acer version of something like that? It was around the same price and that sort of thing would be perfect. Would rather have something that could handle it spot on if I was gonna spend anything upwards of a ?100 mind.

I tried it from this laptop too my 40" and it was perfect bar that little stutter. I seem too have sorted the picture problem, its just that little glitch/stutter that is annoying, as I like things spot on.

I doubt that graphics card is using any type of hardware decoding. The stuttering could be because the picture is software decoding which means that your CPU may be over utilising whilst you are streaming. A good way to test this would be to stream something on ADMC and whilst this is playing check CPU performance. To do this right click on the task bar at the bottom of your screen and choose Task Manager then select the performance tab. If CPU utilisation is high then this is likely the cause. Hardware decoding uses a dedicated chip on the graphics card and therefore by-passes CPU processing almost entirely.

That's when I checked the CPU performance, during streaming of Everton v Chelsea, I was getting a perfect picture but there was a slight stutter. Throughout the stream, CPU was at 100%. I attached a screen grab on the previous page.
