Video quality is split into two different maximum streams. The free channels, and premium +1 to +4 peak at 2400kbps. When watched on a large monitor at a normal desktop seating position, artifacts and imperfections can certainly still be noticed, even if your bandwidth will allow the highest quality stream. However, when seated back as is the normal position for full-screen viewing, the picture quality for the most part is very good.
On the other hand, the six HD channels can peak at 4000kbps and when they achieve this level, the imagequalityisquitesimplyexcellent.Again,Icouldpix el-peepwhensittingdirectlyinfrontof the monitor, but even then I raised an eyebrow in respect. Keep in mind that the video quality is dynamically adjusted based on their determination of your Internet***8217;s bandwidth, which could take up to a f ull minute to reach peak levels

In fairness it is pretty good tonight as I am getting a reasonably stable 250KBps so the 600 mentioned above would be immense! Down side is that it appears when there are loads of Prem matches going on such as last Saturday the performance from my point of view went down the pan. Hopefully it is teething problems as they fine tune the Adaptive Bitrate streaming that they are using.

They use the Variable bit rate streaming technology which is still pretty new and is not without its problems. YouTube have gone down the same line but they still provide the choice of changing the quality of your stream manually because they are still not convinced about it. The problem is that about every 5 seconds your PC reports back it's performance which can include, memory, CPU, screen size and most importantly network speed for us chaps in the UK. I think they have problems as I have seen some fantastic streaming with the VBR at the same network speeds we are getting! I just hope it gets fixed LOL.

Well, after trying & trying I've finally managed to d/load the jsc app to my laptop. I ended up having to open another itunes account with my gmail addy, however now for what seems a really really dumb question, where is it ? & how do I watch jsc through the app? humblest apologies for being such a numpty but it's got me really p****d off at the moment. Thanks in advance for ANY help.

To my laptop, I'm hoping for a better stream through the app, although the picture is quite good tonight through the website.
