    Help with xp install pleas

Hi all. I currently have an*acer aspire revo*3610 nettop with*windows 7. I want to install xp as dual boot for various reasons, so bought a*genuine xp installation*disk and coa and got out my portable dvd disk drive to install it.
I partitioned the hard drive to create a dual doot, stuck the disk in and all seemed to be going well.
Then about 5 minutes in it threw up aessage saying no hard drive detected so cannot carry on with install, and it rebooted.
So I did a quick google and discovered it's because xp has no sata hdd drivers, and the fix is to go into bios and change it to an ide hdd.
So I tried every combination of f keys (and a few f words) and everything else possible, but I couldn't get Into bios. Only boot sequence and recovery menu were available.
So question is, how do I get the sata drivers in there so it can install xp?
Bearing in mind the nettop only has usb ports and my external disk drive, no floppy disk.
    Thanks for your help.

You can make your own with the drivers installed. Google your make of laptop along with Windows XP. Some of the latest versions released had most sata drivers installed

Did a bit of a search and found that I could use a program called n-lite to incorporate the driver into the xp install disc.
Basically download the driver, point n-lite to your xp install disc which then chucks out an iso of xp with the sata driver.
Then burn the iso to disc and voila.
Just need to buy some discs to burn the iso too so I can try it out.

Yeah thats basically it, i could not remember the nlite part and did not want to quote wrongly. You can also slpstream all drivers updates to make a complete silent instal of windows, handy if you want to go out and leave it running

instead of making a dual booting system u could have used mini xp off the hirens disc or used vmware to install xp from 7 directly
