Exactly the same model as mine then, you shouldn't be having any problems regardless of make of hdd. I'd be taking it straight back
Edit, just another quick thought m8, I have had one issue where my phone wasn't recognised as mass storage and have me the reading of device not recognised, this resulted in no other memory stick or hdd being recognised in that port. This was solved by pulling the plug from the wall, everything was ok when I plugged it back in after a few minutes without power, sorry for not mentioning this before, it was that long ago I had completely forgotten about happening.

well I got an enclosure for my western digital 250GB HDD installed it and connected it and the good news is it works fine (once I had formatted to fat32)

only thing i cant understand is why does the HDD have to be fat32 when the first thing the tv does is re-format it to its own file format but then again thats probably just me being thick.

Glad to hear it's working, the tv doesn't re format anything (will mines didn't anyway) just plug and play fat 32 can still be seen as fat 32 on pc and still works as fat 32 partition for wii, have you re formatted the other drive again and tried that more the tv knows what it's supposed to be doing

It won't take as long as you think mate 1hr of HD is about 8gb but it'll do you a good turn, suppose it all depends on how long you keep things on it
