    VM Super Hub wireless extender

I'm thinking of upgrading my Virgin Broadband to 60mb and with that comes one of these wireless superhub things.

At the moment I have a modem which is connected to a Netgear WNDR3700 which I bought a year or so ago, which is the dog's danglers. This is upstairs and is wired to my xbox computer etc in my bedroom. Downstairs I have the crappy WNR2000 that they gave me for free as a wireless extender simply so I can plug my TV and bluray player into the ethernet ports and a bit of streaming.

I suppose my question is, could a Superhub be used as a wireless extender base-station so I could move my WNDR3700 downstairs and take advantage of the 5GHz signal? Or is there another way I could achieve this without having to fork out too much for a some new gear?

I got a new SH last Saturday and like you I have 3 wireless routers and wanted to keep same setup. I recommend turning the new SH into a cable modem only and then you can still use your existing routers.

I personally think the superhub is great, I myself see no need to use it in modem only mode... Its made by Netgear.. The 5ghz mode on it works fine for me, and it gives me good range.. It works without issue, even when I cane it with multiple torrents..

In the early days the superhub got a bad rap because of poor firmware, but they resolved that..

If you only wish to use the Superhub in modem only mode then the wifi on it is disabled.. If you wish to use the wifi on the superhub then it will be the primary router, your other routers you can then use as extenders..
