my sisters pc is saying boot manager not found , hard drive is wiped too tried installing win 7 and linux wont load says boot manager not found tried repair on win7 no good , its an old machine pentium4 told her to bin it but cash is a bit tight any fix ??

Ok couple of things to try.
1st of is boot sequence in bios.
2nd hdd priority in bios
3rd if your doing a full format, then i would set boot priority to 1st cd/dvd and select correct drive. You also want to delete all partitions on the hdd.
Ensure hdd is seen in bios.
Boot into setup of windows/linux and check its seen again, format it and let it instal. If you get the same error once rebooted, its your boot sequence.
TBH i would be thinking of installing windows xp on a P4 setup.
