    Thanks for Smoggy

Many thanks Smoggy, I did get around this problem with an old (VERY OLD) PC Tools cd that I had. I was able to wipe the HD and reformat it. This cd is a great tool and I wish I could understand ALL of the instructions.

Bye now and Thanks Again for your help.

    Tom

Many TIA for this forum! A good friends son decided to lock his dear ole dad out of his laptop. I have been given the task of unlocking the devil. Had he simply put a passwd on the HDD I could get by with no help. Alas the bios is another story as I couldn't find an old fashioned jumper reset... Your help would be most appreciated! #6y1b0c1-595b express 15118737265 Thanks, BeCre8tive

                                Dell Inspiron admin password

Never put a password on my laptop and it now is asking for an admin password on bootup. It's a dell Inspiron 1440 and the express service code is 9492117265 and service tag 4CZD0K1 Dell wants $60 bucks to give me a way into it.. Sad its their product and I bought it. It should come with a master password that would do it. Please can anyone help me?
