    cpu-z shows the following:

    RAM : 2048 MB DDR2 Dual Channel
    RAM Speed : 399.5 MHz (1:2) @ 5-5-5-15
    Slot 1 : 1024MB (6400)
    Slot 1 Manufacturer : OCZ
    Slot 2 : 1024MB (6400)
    Slot 2 Manufacturer : OCZ

The ram in all four slots is exactly the same ocz

Try removing the Ram & reseating. Also try loading the default settings on the motherboard. What OS are you running? 32 bit Windows will only see 3gb of ram, 64 bit is required to make use of any additional ram. Let us know how you get on.

yea soz ray i should really wake up first before trying to solve peoples comp probs

the other 2 slots are simply just not enabled in the bios

so what u have to do is pop into ur bios and remap the memory
You have to find the memory remapping functionality that is super hidden inside CHIPSET CONFIGURATION / NORTH CHIPSET, enable it and it will this will give u 4GB

I'm not totally savvy with what your saying bud, but I take it you mean the OCZ ram cannot be used by me then ?

                      well yes and no
is ur ocz ram double sided?
if this is the case then u must buy 1 chip sided ram
                      never heard of this myself

the only other think ive heard as-well is that windows uses the ram from the gfx card and then from the ram module making it up to 4gb usage
are u using a 2 gb gfx card?

                            as what i said......
                            4 x240-pin DIMM, Max. 4 GB, DDR2 1066(O.C.)/800/667 Memory
                            Dual Channel memory architecture
*Support max. 2 DIMM modules only for yellow DIMMs when over-clock to DDR2-1066
*When installing four DDR2 DIMM modules, install only single-sided memory modules

your board works with dual channel but only using 2 slots.
if using the 4 slots it must be single channel ddr2.
                            go there-specs-memory.

Right, do all the sticks of ram have to be single channel then, what if I had 2 1gb sticks of single chnl in with the two sticks of dual channel ?

Thanks for all the help folks I really appreciate it
