in windows control panel remove any user accounts there is, then you shouldnt need to enter any passwords etc other than your own one for your own account, if your own account is the only account that is, otherwise if theres another account then you need that password too, but to install windows iam almost positive if your doing the job correctly you dont need to enter any passowrds.Comment

right click 'my computer' select 'manage', the computer management window will appear, in there choose 'local users and groups' in users right click on 'adminsrator' and 'set password'. You will get warning etc, ingore these and continue. then try running your cmd prompt against as you tried before..Comment

forget my last post, i was just confused about why ops was on about passwords etc, i did tell him earlier about making the usb stick bootable etc same as in the posts already in this thread, but anyways, no big deal, as long as he gets sorted thats all that matters.Comment

yep thats done it..
only prob now is in the tutorial..
if i had a Win 7 DVD why would i be doing thisNext insert your Windows7/Vista DVD into the optical drive and check the drive letter of the DVD drive. In this guide I will assume that your DVD drive letter is ?D? and USB drive letter is ?H? (open my computer to know about it).

at this stage you mount your iso file so it looks like it is a dvd in an optical drive.. i have apps like this mounted using the daemon lite which is a free download, some people use it to get better game play without having the noise of their optical drive spinning away etc.. once you have created what you need you just unmount it .... simples

hmmm, iam not sure mate, maybe for this purpose the usb stick needs formatted using ntfs rather tham fat32, as i says in shoutbox earlier, iam not 100% on installing windows from a usb stick, but i know it can be done easy enough, what i do use my usb stick for is to flash/update my motherboard bios's and that does require the usb stick to be formatted using fat32 file system, but ive never installed windows from the stick, so maybe the stick needs to be formatted in ntfs, iam not sure.
you'll get it to work in the end mate if you just keep trying.
You should do like i do, i always have some spare re-writable dvds laying around and in a case like this i just use one of those, much less hassle mate, hehehe, what are they, like maybe 5quid from asda for multipack or summit like that iam sure, might be easier to do that mate if you have a spare coupls of quids.
p.s
you making sure like i told you before to enable legacy usb support in the bios and all that ? and set first boot device to your usb stick.Comment
