On some laptops the os is installed on a seperate partition on the hard drive . Instructions should have come with laptop, if not google your model. If you cannot find any info maybe do a system restore to an earlier date. Apart from that you are going to need to get your hands on a disc with Vista on.

    THE TRUTH
    The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

normally if they do not come with a restore CD they have a hidden restore partition on the HDD... On boot up press F11 and see if that gives you restore options..

Is there an application on the laptop to create the restore disks? HP and Toshiba normally have a "Create Recovery Disks" icon in the Utilities or Toshiba folder that you can run - you then insert DVD / CD media as appropriate and follow the instructions (took about an hour on the Toshiba L300 I downgraded to XP this morning).
