    help please EPSON R285 CIS SYSTEM

    hi just got new printer with cis system the ink cartriges do not fill while printing it empty's them completely. then i have to fill them manually. does anyone have the same pro or know what's wrong thanks.

    this is the setting info for your printer . do u no if u have v5 and above chips on your cis ?

      I had a very similar problem when i was buying mine, both from same seller, ended up binning old cis and getting new 1 off of flea bay for ?20

        l have a r256 at work that has the old cis (auto reset) but my rx560 has to have the latest chip to reset , but u have to reset with a little button the ciss system as they remember the ink cartridge

          i had a similar set up on the 265 but when it gave up the ghost i bought a 285, the ciss i have on it wont auto refill and if your half way through print you practically write it off if a photo or a disc being printed

            dosnt it tell u when its low and then if u havent a reset button u just remove and refit cartridges

              thanks for info. i manually filled the ink cartridges because they were empty when i got them, printed 30 sheets of a4 paper 25 sheets ok then on the 5 prints washed out checked the cartridges empty of ink. some one told me the cartridges stay full all the time its supposed to top them up as you print

                true m8 .. l dont do that with mine . have u got the ink on the same level as the printer ?

                  mine has a reset on the black as thats the readable ink

                    mine is in the middle between the light cyan and the light magenta, and my main inks are sitting at the same level as the printer bottom

                      my system dosn't seem to draw any ink into the cartridges when i do a head clean do you think it could be a chip prob m8 or am i missing something. cheers

                        have u taken out the breathers ? look at my picture where l have to caps removed on the ink tops
