    checked the update i got from Fujitsu site for WLAN and it was the latest one but for some reason it said 2004? so i will see if i can get a more upto date one..thanks Ian

          tried the intel link Ian and it still showed my driver was the latest so looks like i'm stuck with using the cable for now...unless there is another compatible one out there
