Hello, I am a newbie here. I was about to junk 2 dell D630's that the kids (in thier need for extreme privicy) had bios password protected then just as quickly forgotten the passwords. I still have alot to read in the many posts but can you do your magic with my service tags? Thank you in advance.

                DELL BIOS Password

Canel my request for the 2 d630s. after taking the time to read and do my own research, I was able to get the codes. This site is incredible. As a bonus, The kids fear my new found PC "abilities" and have now given up passwords to hide things from me. (I took 2 "brick" laptops and "cracked" thier BIOS passwords and Windows passwords in less than 5 minutes after they got here. They now think I am an evil genious and kinda cool in a spooky way. Someday I will tell them how I did it, but for this weekend, I will just be spooky cool. I can't thank the entire forum properly, but thank you all for sharing your knowledge.

Would it matter if my laptop is a D620 vs thinking it was a D630? I ask bc the bios password given isn't working. Thanks!

                    no it doesn't matter
serial tags and passwords are case sensitive, have you typed it in correctly

Yes, I typed and retyped it and just get "Invalid Password". Just in case, here's a screenshot of the screen & tag.

thats strange because the password you have should work 44hto6ls (5th 0 for orange and 7th l for love)
also sometimes the serial number can be found on the sticker underside of laptop, see if they correspond

Interesting... the service tag label on the bottom of the laptop is missing, therefore I can't compare them. No wonder I got this laptop cheap. But yeah, I'm typing in the password just as you've described and still no luck at all.

grasping at straws but may be worth a try, if it was lower case the password would be qh4fpz35

Grasping at strawas also but I had this same thing with a windows password. knew the password was correct but when typed in it did not work on this laptop. I plugged in an external keyboard and booted up. typed it in and it worked. A key on the laptop had become unstable and only worked if pressed a certain way so it did not register. not sure if it would recognise an external kb before bios but a flakey key may be the cause.

I just set a password on a dell d630 and plugged in an external keyboard. when it came to the bios password screen i typed it in on the external and it worked. so give it a try maybe just a bad key on the laptop
