I formatted the HDD in my Dell E6410 with PartedMagic and now at boot I need a HDD password.
The number is 5RG28EG4-2A7B. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The number has # before it then ***5RG28EG4-2A7B. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks

pass given is correct
make sure you type it in exactly as given and try Ctrl+Enter
this will only work if its original HDD

Thanks again. I've just realised, that's the Admin pw for the system? The Admin pw isn't set in the bios, just the HDD pw. It also says I can add an Admin one if the HHD is set. Is there a pw for just the HDD please?

password given for that serial is the master password for the HDD providing it is the original HDD
there is no way to generate a different one

Dell D630 Admin Password

Hi, I hope everyone is doing well

I received a second-hand laptop from a college student who has since moved on and unfortunately, he failed to mention that the Admin password is INTACT. I've come to understand however, that there are some fine individuals here that can help me with this dilemma; Provided that I give accurate information about the model.
