+1 for Avast, installed it on a lot of PCs in the last few months.

Moved away from AVG recently, too many false positives with *cough* patched software....
particularly "that general automotive repair software we must not mention"

I don't tend to trust those free anti virus programs,the ones I've tried in past always seem to 'find' an alarming amount of potentialy harmful programs . I am using Norton internet security on my laptop and AVG (paid for version) on my desktop.

Norton makes your PC very slow. For profesional use mcafee and at home avg for me. no problems.
