hi mate just go onto the acer web site and see if it has driver support then if it supports the acer then go for it , windows 7 on the other hand got great driver support, just had problems with acer machines due to the lack of driver support , which is the problem windows 7 should still run on the machine, only 1 way to see try it.

FT check whether your notebook has the caperbilities to install windows 7, I think you have to have at least 1GB of memory and 20GB HD, and also get a genuine copy or one with a product key, you can also buy a upgrade pack from XP or vista so that all your files and documents are not wiped. I recently aquired a pirate copy of windows 7 and with windows automatic updates switch on it didn't take long before windows detected it was a copy and blacked my screen so I had to re install Vista, hence I would get a genuine copy, also back up your files or create a restore disc on a external HD before installing just to be on the safe side mate....chuck

If you're not sure if your Acer is compatible for Win7 you can download a checker program from M$ that will check if your system is compatible.

I put Win7 on a friends Acer NoteBook at it works perfectly. Well it runs a bit slow 1GB memory, he's upgrading to 2GB which is the max I think.

                HI Father Ted,
I have a friend running windows 7 on a NETbook, however you said notebook, and i think it will all depend on its age and memory. Do a google with the model number and widows 7 to see if you can find anything about it.

                hHope this helps.

                Andy

Windows 7 runs fine on a netbook, just don't expect you can run Photoshop or some other heavy duty program next on it.

a netbook is an internet, msn and textwriter laptop, no high end gaming piece of hardware

Win7 ultimate runs fine, might wanna upgrade your memory though.

I'm agree w7 runs fine but you must not use heavy programs om a netbook
and then it works like a charm
its visual nice mucht more then xp

you may be as well to go for windows 7 starter, its a slimmed down version of windows 7 for lower spec machines, and is the version that is installed on 90% of all new netbooks. we have it on our HP mini 210-1020sa. Works ok, only problem we've encountered is that you can't change the desktop background

we also have wondows 7 home premium on the desktop upstairs, and setting up the wireless network between the 2 machines took no longer than a minute, it was so easy!

I have also a netbook. It is the ASUS 1000H and it works really good with Windows 7. I have the "Home Premium" Version of WIN 7. It is not the fastest one but it works almost as fast as WIN XP.
