7 viruses from a stumble upon page

Hi Digital Kaos Peeps,

I opened a stumble upon page the other day and my computer freaked out 7 threats/virus opened and attacked my anti-virus and system configuration files...

My Anti-virus was AVG full version... it turned off the all shields and disabled my restore points after hours of searching the web for advise and running scans and anti-malwere scans I removed most of the damage well to the best of my ability. and corrected my configuration settings

Since this has happened my pc is running slow and lagging like a beached whale trying to through the sand.

I have totally removed AVG and now running Avast I used the AVG removal tool so im pretty sure it was completely removed before I installed the new anti virus.

Any help to resolve this issue will be greatly appreciated!

Try to install avast! Anti-virus software, i use that is very nice to protect my computer.

run a scan with malwarebytes, different avs pick up different things your pooter could be still infected, also run ccleaner.

Hi there, I have run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, HijackThis and CCleaner. Picked up a few things and cleared them but still no joy... thanks for your help

if they dont work theres combofix A guide and tutorial on using ComboFix scroll down to the blue bleepingcomputer.com link to download it. BE VERY CAREFUL with combofix.
there's also something called housecall from trend micro, its probably best to use that last

I use avast free and threatfire ThreatFire AntiVirus - Behavioral Virus and Spyware Protection without problems,
maybe they will find something malwarebytes and hijack this missed.

if all else fails back up what you need (in safe mode if poss)
then reformat the hdd

Try AVG, this includes a lot of mal- and adware.

AVG is a free virusscanner, currently #1 in the world.
Avast is good but slower (takes more resources)

Also install Ad-Aware (also free) as AVG isn't enough of protection alone.

Another utility that's really good is Autoruns. It lets you see and disable (or remove) programs that start at boot, and has many other uses as well. If those threats and viruses you caught have left behind monitors/keyloggers/etc that run at boot, this program should find them for you and let you turn them off.

Another program that helps me clean up after "accidents" is a program called Registry Crawler.

I always keep a system image on a removable hard drive, then if the worst happens and I need to reformat the main hard drive I can just load everything back on in one go. Saves hours of work!
