Hi
I'm running windows XP Pro. ver. 2002 + sp3
An AMD Athlon 7750 Dual-core processor on a Biostar motherboard and 2.87 ( 3 ) GB ram
Everything was going alright until I did an update with AVG which messed everything up. Since then I've done a secure erase of that half of my hard drive ( it's split into two drives ) and done a reinstall of everything. windows , now useing avast anti virus free version and I have malaware installed as well.
Whats been happening is strange , when I turn on sometimes it will load up normally , other times it will restart - for no reason - sometimes it goes to a blue screen and does a memory dump .Yesterday I had a couple of things pop up - error , could not find macromedia flash , and something connected to soffice.bin. Another problem is I use aol as my isp and have been useing them for over 10 years with no probs. , however since the reinstal it updated to their new aol desktop ( useing internet express ) which has benn freezeing after 10 - 15 minutes of use. Firefox has also been ' encountering a problem and can't load ' on occasion
I've run avast and malaware but found nothing and after reading some posts on another forum I thought I'd try the speedfan program . this is the result -
Reduced: 47% of original size [ 640 x 480 ] - Click to view full image

Not quite sure what it means but the fans I have are 1 on the cpu , 1 on the front of the pc box , 1 on the power supply , and 1 on the rear of the pc box.
Started the pc today and had these pop up -
went thru xp screen
went thru blue welcome screen
desktop came up then
generic host process for win32 service has encountered a problem and will shut down
avast not loading
googleupdate.exe - application instruction at 0x7c910a19 reference memory at 0x00000000
task bar changed from blue to biege
abode acrobat speed launcher fialed to load
At this time I went thru start button and restarted pc , it has now restarted and is running as its supposed to with no problems.
Can anyone come up with an answer as to whats happening , how to sort it - I would have thought doing a reinstall most of this shouldn't be happening.
Thanks , Adam
