Hello Guys my Daughters Dell Inspiron 1545 has lost its display. When I switch it on i get all the noise but do not see the Microsft logo or anythingb .. I do see brightness on the screen but nothing else. Any Ideas
Do you have a monitor handy you can plug it into that will tell you if its the display or the on board gpu. Have you plugged out the laptop plus battery then powered on just to be sure.
sorry mate, if you could have seen the desktop under the torch i'd have suggested the backlight or invertor. When you are booted up and connected to external monitor try hitting "Fn+F8". (i cant remember do they connect automatically or not, if i can get a hold of a monitor later ill try and connect my 1525 to it)
Thanks guys have tried my best and I am conversant with pc's and an engineer, but think this one is a dead duck and the cheapest option would be to buy a new laptop .. My thanks to all who tried to help
