If your modem is network locked to your current operator then you will need to use the unlock code if you want to change networks and use a SIM from another operator!

Did it ever work? If it was supplied by MTN South Africa, the modem will NOT have been locked in this case the IMEI may be blacklisted as the device may have been reported lost or stolen.

its to do with coverage m8 weak signal like dropping a call on a mobile nothing you can do get a long lead for it and put it in an good location for signal ... good luck

I assume that your signal is OK in which case, try a firmware update if one is available!
