I don't know where you're getting your information from. A Voda SIM will not work in an Orange phone unless it's unlocked. T-Mobile & Orange are in the process of merging, but their phones are still locked to their respective network. Some T-Mobile handsets will allow Virgin SIM's to be used without unlocking, Virgin 'piggy back' on the T-Mobile network.
All we do to unlock the Rio is generate the code, put a non Orange SIM into the phone & then type the generated code into the pop-up for the Network Code.
Or, without a SIM... ###825*09# 860376624282 select/enter
Does the O2 SIM work in another phone? There's no reason for the phone not to turn on, unless the SIM is well ~~~~ed.Canker

Fonefunshop are the biggest supplier to the UK unlocking market. They are one of the few companies to offer SL3 unlocking...on their own custom built hardware.
These people know their sh1t.Canker
