    Wind has moved motorised dish

Hi, got a 1m motorised dish with a dm500 box. It seems high winds have knocked out my dish a bit as I am not getting any signal on 19.2e and 13e is there, but is breaking up. Is it possible to adjust the dish marginally from the box or will I have to have it adjusted from the dish on the roof?

setup > satellite and transponder > rotor setup > press the next button and then go into direction and choose left or right on arrows on remote and store. thats if its only moved abit

Is this likely to mess things up with regards to alignment?

it could do mate it all depends on how the wind was blowing if that makes sense trial and error really

Cheers, not in the house just now you see. Last question, is it possible that when winds die down, the signal will be fine?

no not at all you are just fine tuning the dish. you can only mess it up if you get up on your roof and move it . if the wind has done this you will need to relign the dish which will mean getting up on the roof but realy the roof is not the ideal place to mount the dish. if it is mounted on the wall it would be more protected from the wind and be easier to service

If you turn to BBC World on 08.0W and check your signal you should be able to get an idea of whether its moved a lot or justa little in the wind.

Aye? I get 13e but it's got a reduced SNR, but 19.2e is gone completely. I'll just need to see I suppose

the way i done it was....lined up 28.2e....with the best signal 90% + on signal and quality.

then raised the elevation, just slightly.......................and then picked up all the sats from there...........it worked for mw

                      so good luck mate.

If its set up on USALS just alter your longitude by either increasing or decreasing in 0.2 multiples until you get a lock. The rest of your sats will then be fine using USALS.

Someone set it up for me. What's USALS? The guy got a lock on 13e and the rest just dropped in apparently.

Your motor will either be set up on USALS or diseqc. Sounds like that is what yours is set ip on if the installer locked on one and the rest dropped in. Diseqc requires you to find and store each sat.

If you follow Smirnoffs advice and go to rotor set up you should see if its USALS.
