ECHOLINK 3020 SATELLITE BOX

hi i got a echolink 3020 which i have never used since i move over 3 years ago i moved to high rise flat and they have satelite dishes on the roof of the block would i still need a dish to operate my echolink ? also because its been a long time since i have used it would i need some kind of firmware to upgrade it i have plugged it in to try it to see if it works and it does and comes up with no signal thankyou .

Get the software update here mate Srsupport.com It will probably be dishes for freesat on the roof so as long as there is an outlet to connect to in your flat all you need to do is scan 28 east and you should have freesat at least.

when i have clicked on the link that i i want and downloaded it how do i transfer it onto my echolink box do i need some leads ?

you need a patch lead to update your box. is your box a ali-b or ali-c chip version? is it a 3020 super or a 3020 plus as support for the older ali-b/3020 super is very poor from srsupport/moresat as like all other stb "teams" the latest box always gets the most sw/attention although saying that the ali-c is pretty old now also. regards mdt

my box is the 3020 super , were would i get one of these there used to be a secret menu you could access when you put this code in in but i cant remember how you do it now were do you get patch leads from

the secret menu(turn the emu on) is menu 2020. you can get a patch lead for a few quid of *bay. regards mdt

can i only (turn the emu on) after i bought one of those patch leads or can i get to it aswell without conneting a patch lead and if so how do i find it on the menu

its not a patch lead its got a RS232 socket on back of box i just noticed so would i have to get one of those leads to load the software on and how much are they ? thankyou

as i said they are about ?5 inc p+p. to see if your box is already patched which it probably is then press... MENU then 2 , 0, 2, 0 and it should give a onscreen message... CAS SYSTEM ENABLED. regards mdt

id advise you to still get yourself a null-modem (patch lead) as your patch will be out-of-date and will need updating to give you more options. have a play with your box and do some reading up and then if you want to upgrade in the future you will have a better understanding of how patchs/emu,s work although lan capable linux stb,s are the future. regards mdt

have you got a loader to put software on all so how do you determine wat chip its is ali-b or ali-c cheers it is the 3020 super

thankyou for the latest software but it keeps saying cannot connect serial port just like it said about the other sofware aswell i have got the lead connected up propally to the box and pc ?

are you using a laptop or a pc tower? make sure you have the correct com port selected and if using a laptop/usb connector that all drivers are installed. regards mdt
