I used to pick up 4.8 on Irish east coast from an 80cm fixed dish but only ever got a handful of FTA channels so I never dwelt on it much.

You may be getting some stuff from Sirius, but it is highly unlikely that you are getting Viasat. Please let us know what dish and lnb you are using.Cheers

i live in belfast and checked dishpointer and it says this :

                      Address: belfast
                      Latitude: 54.5973?
                      Longitude: -5.9301?
                      Satellite: 4.8E SIRIUS 4
                      Elevation: 26.9?
                      Azimuth (true): 166.9?
                      Azimuth (magn.): 171.2?

does this mean i need at least 1.8 dish ?

Hi. have you tried to move the dish manually while you have it on a FTA channel. If you get the THOR satellite at 1 WEST then SIRIUS is next door. You just need to nudge the dish slightly to the left. Remember that some channels are not transmitted to the UK for copyrights reasons etc. Also have you contacted a satellite shop near you who may be able to help.? I know that SIRIUS in London is receivable with a 60cm dish. Regards.

                            From elsewhere
"My mate (an installer) and I were trying to get the Via Sat nordic brodcasts at his location in Belfast last week. No joy with a 110cm Triax and black ultra, I cant remember the snr but think it was around 36/37%. We managed to pull it in on an Andrews 1.5m dish ok. It was very sensative to the slightest of movement though, but this may have been due to the lnb not being in the correct collar for the dish. It was a diy cobbled together thing, but hey we got a picure "
