@orientville alot of people with netgear routers have been having problems with this firmware you can look on numerous different forums. I will do the factory reset tho and try once more. I get 20 meg Virgin BB if it works with the super hub then why aint it working for me as ive had no problems with the previous firmware

@orientville your idea worked thanx, but im still using the old firmware because everytime i turned box off it doesn't automaticly like it does with the old firmware pick up my ip i have to keep going to ip settings n press red this is annoying, especially if i have to do it every morning after leaving the box on standby mode everynight

All those people with a NETGEAR ROUTER and having trouble getting the new Blade firmware to work follow the steps below:

Firstly I have tried downloading the firmware straight to my box, but all the channels appear with scrambled message even though it***8217;s picked up my IP etc and the NEWCAMD is showing connected but it***8217;s not highlighted in green.

Someone mentioned I should do a factory reset which I did. Please note if you are going to do this make a note of your CLINE or NEWCAMD as once you do a factory reset all your info on the box is lost.

So I did a factory reset by switching off the box at the back then I held down the menu button on the front of the box, then I switched the box back on whilst still holding down the menu button. Then you will see something appear, press option 4 on your remote this is factory reset and it shouldn***8217;t even take a second to restore.

Ok once that***8217;s done you***8217;ll need to put in your USB with the new firmware at the back of the box and go to utilities and download the firmware as you would have before.

Once that***8217;s done you***8217;ll see a message NO CHANNELS when you try watch something, so you need to access the 9991 menu and input all your CLINE or NEWCAMD info in and connect like you have done previously.

You then need to go to the menu and go to IP settings and press red on your remote, it may take a few seconds for it to pick up your IP. Once it has you can leave IP settings and go to Blade online and download the channels.

Once that***8217;s done and make sure your IP is picked up you should be able to view all the channels.

Well this is how it worked for me anyway, hope this helps.
I tried all the new features and they work.

Downside to this firmware every time I switch the box off I have to go to the IP settings menu and press red on remote as it doesn***8217;t pick up my router IP automatically as it did with the old firmware, I think this is just a NETGEAR problem but not sure, so I***8217;ve gone back to using the old firmware until this problems fixed.

          I hope this is helpful!!

ive heard people saying the epg saves itself to the hard drive and updates itself in this new firmware but i havn't seen that i still have to press the epg yellow button to update it. It can on occasions freeze when going in to the menu but just the odd occasion and it doesn't find the ip automaticaly when the box is switched off or is on standby when you turn it back on, you have to go to ip settings and press red

To update the 7 day epg you need to press the guide button and select the "7 day Epg download" channel. Only press ok once(stay in the guide menu). You should notice the info pulling in within a minute. The longer you leave the channel selected, the more info you will pull. The update you are familiar with is handy for now and next synopsis.

I still got constant glitching and freezing of picture even after I did what zee24 said to do on the new firmware (I suspect it's because it's a beta).

So put the box back to firmware before this one, still got a bit glitching an freezing even on this older firmware, should add that the box was connected through Ethernet cable from Superhub to box.

Took the box downstairs and connected it through a wifi bridge and guess what no glitching or freezing on the older firmware. Not gonna bother even trying the newer firmware downstairs.

I've actually got 2 wifi bridge's on the Superhub, the Blade box which is downstairs is using a OpenMedia Wifi Bridge, and the second Wifi Bridge which is a VONNETS is on a Starview HD COMBO which is in my brothers room.

I'm also using a Starview HD COMBO but this is connected up using Ethernet lead, and I also have my Brothers PS3 connected wireless to the Superhub.

Truthfully the 2 BOX'S using the Wifi bridge's are working better than the the Ethernet connected box, but thus could be down to my cline on this box.

thanks, i'm looking at gettin one, the ?20 ones on email look like they will do the job.

I have a problem with my blade. Every now and then the movie (playback off USB) will freeze on screen, the audio continues, if i stop the video even the satellite channels have no tv just audio, if I start another video it usually freezes the box. Anyone else had this problem and know of a solution?
