You could probably do it in 10 minutes without all the booting between downloads etc if you know what you're doing.
Dreambox 500 is similar but flashing is normally done with Dreamup and null modem cable.
Would choose Dreambox over most boxes due to the support on the forums.

    Andy.
    i was only joking mate

you flash dm800 via dreamup too?

i've got a dm500, but got the though of hd channels on the back of my head, might have to look into these hd boxes soon!

I got an openbox s10.First box for me with a motorised dish.Lining the dish up is hardest part. The openbox is really plug and play its that easy.
Im still waiting on a dm500 clone to come from china to play with.If i can get into the dreambox i will be getting an dm800 in the new year.Gives me a few months to brick the 500 and try and fix it again .

i started with a spiderbox 7000 - thats what the shop sold me.......(dm800 - lot better than spiderbox and customisable)

...........but since i've had the dm800.....i have tried hard to brick it.......but lets just say ...the box aint having it theres almost always a way to get the box back... it's just like your pc...if the systems fff's up...yu re-install windows(if thats what u running) and your machine is back to how it was when you got it.

trust me you won't go wrong with the box. there are very simple step by step tutorials and there ar many members who wil l help you out if u get stuk.

Don't own any of the 2 you looking at but If I had to choose then the DM800HDSE would be my choice, don't own this box as well but reading up about it and next to the V+DUO and V+ UNO it's the box I would choose.

i hear what you're saying...and wouldn't disagreee with your choice at all. but, there is a price difference of around ?40-?50.

and for watching tv...pro is pretty solid box to start with.

To be honest, the only dreambox I've ever owned was the DM500c way back in the cable days and i didn't have that for long because the sound quality on it was pathetic.

I just like the look of the DM800HDSE and with that large cooling fan there should less of a heat problem.

dm800se(clone) is far better than the standard dm800 (clone), I have owned both so would adivce to purchase the dm800se anyday if considering a dreambox clone

Thats all and well but its 50 quid more and should be better but i wouldnt recommend it for a noob.
Alot of the guys who are loving the se are having teething probs and they are hardened 800 clone users.

                          Andy.
