they never publish what the changes are to the patches, you just have to assume they add fixes or change the menus or whatever

as for the softcams, they are what is left of the old types of keys that patches allow to open channels, like bulsat irdeto channels

if you open the softcam in notepad you can see the sections and keys, and you can copy and paste in new ones as they change, which is what the fileguys do

so the channels you "lost" were probably the ones opened by the softcam, and you needed to enable ucas and have the latest softcam installed to reopen those channels


and you need to put in biss keys by remote control to open any biss channels, there is a thread on here by another member that has those keys and channels listed too

so with the march 2012 patch, the ucas enabled, the latest softcam installed and any biss keys put in by remote control you will open whatever is open

Ok, I leave it to the experts, tooo complicated! It was only that since I changed to the latest mar2012 patch about 2 weeks ago and the latest softcam, I lost my austrian channels and now I must stick in a card from an other receiver to receive these channels. Is it possible if I go back to the previous patch nov 2011 and the previos softcam my system will be reinstated?

I cannot see that having anything to do with the patch, as it does not open any channels at all

the only way to open channels using the patch is to use the softcam and add any biss keys, there is no other method

other than that its add a card like you have done, or its get internet "help" which we cannot discuss

so to answer your question , no, I dont think it will make any difference to your "austrian channels" issue

that problem is something else entirely, or it may be that you havent turned ucas on, or maybe you havent added a biss key ?

if you had said which channels and which satellite they are on then maybe we could have tested them for you and try to help with that particular problem

pressing info twice tells me they are decoded by ucas, which is the patch + softcam

so if it works on mine, it will work on everybodys

1) that first part was online update from the spider server which is no longer active so doesnt matter what you put in there as its obsolete and no longer n use, just use usb stick updating as usual

2) client setup is where you add your internet "help" (think of an agile aquatic mammal here) but we cannot discuss that on the forum so I cannot go into details

but if you have nothing to put in then it isnt going to do anything

But No.2 I did say The Type is switch on. But the Login is pale grey and not active.
To enter anything whether aquatic or any animal. Is it important that I enter something here, as I cannot get FTA or scrambled channels, I get nothing at the moment.

no 2 is only important if you require net help from that s*a l*on" and is irrelevant if its not required. only you can decide if you are doing this task or not

if not leave them all set to none

if you are using these additions then input the details you are given into this section

I cannot elaborate due to forum rules

none of this has any influence on the receiver obtaining fta channels , or channels opened by ucas like orf on 19e in conjunction with a softcam, or if using biss keys like on pltv on 10e either

my advice is concentrate on getting those all working and ignore the client setup for now

Hello again, I have everything working again but cannot view the austrian channels without using a card from another receiver.
Question. Should the UCAS autoroll be on, mine isnt but the UCAS is.
Have I made a mistake loading the latest softcam. I hadnt unrared it as I read somewhere I shouldnt. But I had unrared the HD9000 File.
If there is a clear proceedure for dummies to reload these updates can you please point my nose in it.

yes , unrar or unzip the softcam and then load it, and orf should return
