Hope you can help me? My sky + box has just started playing up (Just as warantee ranout - suprisingly) I cant record unless i am watching the programme i am recording & if i set the reminder for something i want to watch, when the time comes the reminder flashes up but when i turn over it says that there is no satelite signal being recieved, & i have to turn it off & on again at the mains!!! It really p*#$*ng me off & sky only want to flog me the HD box & stations or send an engineer at a huge cost, any ideas how i might sort this myself?

Get a secondhand HD box off ebay quick phone call to sky to pair your card up to the new box and your back in business.

the newish 890 500gb Hd box usually go for around ?40

Hi, thanks for that but I was hoping there was something i could do as I wouldnt be able to get one before xmas as post slow at the best of times
But it does look like I may have to buy a new one unless anyone else got any ideas?

Sounds like it may be set to single feed, check SERVICES

scroll down to 'SINGLE FEED MODE'

toggle left/right to OFF/ON

GREEN button to save

box will reboot and Twin feed enabled If not that maybe duff lnb, try changing one of the ports.

Maybe worth checking the second input. By the sounds of it there's nothing coming through and feeding the receiver, which would explain not being able to record and the "no signal message" - best bet is to switch it off and check all the f-plugs are making a good connection first.

I would like to know where I can get servicing info.,cct diag for the Amstrad so that I can do some fault diagnosis of my dodgy receiver.Do you have any sources from your experience? Any info is appreciated.
