Calling sat installers from greater Manchester

i am looking at purchesing a technomate off ebay ( not to sure about which model yet , still learning about patching etc)

i need someone from the Manchester area to hook me up with the right size dish 80cm +
the right LNb to get multi sat - i have heard you can have upto 4 Lnb on a bracket...i cant afford a motor system at the moment....

and set the dish up right on the wall..i was looking at doing it myself but i am clueless...so i want to get the pros in

i have been told by my local installers for a 80cm bog standerd dish , lined up right, installed will cost me 160.00
is this fair , or is it a little pricey

is there any good dish installers within the manchester area
    kind regards - any advice

First things first..no need for multi lnb.. Just 1west with a cam will do you fine as the nearby sats have nothing much worth while..
You can easily install the dish yourself within 2 hour..it only gets hard when a motor is introduced..
Just throw the bracket up..get a compass and find south..make your lnb vertical and make sure the dish is facing about 15degrees higher than a sky dish then move the dish towards south and keep moving it west until you get signal..use the tp 11785v28000 as the signal is amazing..
    Thats it..

what size dish would you recommend, i get throwing a bracket up , but what is a 1west with a cam

      what Lnb would you recommend

do you think 160.00 is steep for a 80cm dish , plus intallation
thanks for the advice by the way , did i say i was a newb LOL

160 for dish and motorless installation is rip off..
1west is a position of a satellite..the best one at the moment..this is one degree to the west of south..a cam is like a card which goes into your box but its slightly different..the tm patch will open digitv but with a cam you will also get another package called canal nordic on 1west giving you all prem games you could wish for..

No thats the old 5000receiver.you need a 5400ci usb..
And a old sky dish would work with c different lnb but its always better to start properly

There is no such thing as having a cam built in. It could be a softcam which only opens what the patch opens..google diablo cam and cas3 programmer..you will need them too but for the meanwhile you can live without the cam.

it means the receiver will work with these cams mate
also the card reader is multicrypt and works with most cards on the market i have found that all technomate receivers work with all cams, but even though there are two cam slots most receivers will only work with one cam
in he receiver at a time, hobby cams a very dominat and wont work if there is anouther cam in at the same time. it's aready been said the best cam to give you everything thats available is the v2.3 diablo cam light and you said you need a installer to set it up try D&C. buxton road disley for a price

there's no need to feel lost mate it is confussing at first, a lot of the tech jargon is confussing when we buy a satellite receiver we buy a free to air receiver and we then need patches, cams or cards to get the channels open and view. for a first box i would say the
technomate is the easiest receiver to use and set up. and to go for. and as i said they work with all cams, the problem now is we have had lots of the providers changing there encryption to nagra 3 etc; and there channels cant be opened even with the receiver patched.
that is why a lot of technomate users now have a diablo cam this opens lots of channels on different satellites but like anything else if you dont pay for a official subscription these channels could also go down and we could loose them as well. there are no gaurantee's in this
hobby we have had a very good run with lots of chns open and now there is'nt much so now it's wait and see if or when we get some of the channels we have lost back open again.

Im in the same boat and I am doing a lot of reading. Im not rushing in but the CAMs are confusing for me. Why do you have diablo cam? Is it not possible for it to be a softcam?

We dont know why the diablo cam opens more than softcam but there is a saying'you never know whats around the corner'..
