Me personally as you can see from my sig my ultimo is on pre-order, I have had an ET9000 and its a great box no doubt about it but it has driver issues for the AGC bug and the SR30000 TP issues on Tuner B, This wont be a problem if you dont use tuner b for motorised use and just use it for sky just to clarify this also affects the 9200 as well.

IMHO if you can afford it and dont mind the wait till january get the Ultimo it will have far better support from more teams than what the CT/Xtrend has now.

thank you digicon for your advice! it really has been helpful. i'm not an expert (yet!!) on linux receivers but hoping to learn pretty soon and then get the very best out of the receiver's benefits and capabilities. i'm hoping that the picture quality will be at the top end of receiver quality on both HD and SD with the Ultimo as that's what i'm hoping for. i'm hoping it will be easy for me to load everything on it like the cccam, drivers, bootloaders, images, addons etc...as i currently have a tech 7102HD T2 Super, is there such a thing as vu+ patches like in the technomate receivers? thank you very much for your advice...kind regards...

No Problem mate you will love the ultimo id you decide this is the right one for you, Its a little different from your TM as your already use to loading patches and keys via a USB stick then the VU is similar for images but for the rest CCam,Channel Lists, Softcam Keys, Drivers need to be FTP'd over by one of the popular programs mainly filezilla, You will also use Telnet commands for somethings but mostly ftp for everyday use.

I am sure that once you have a go a few times it becomes second nature.

        Good Luck with your Purchase

        Regards

sorry mate one just got round to this thread.

you get two DVB-S2 tuners with the box as standard although all 3 tuner slots are interchangeable so you can have any combination of DVB-S2 for satellite or DVB-C / T combo for terrestrial or cable. as for supplier well you know i'm going to say World-of-satellite and as always he nocks a fiver off for any one who contacts him via pm plus his after sales support is easily the best in the uk.

Buy from world of satellite, as RD sais service and after sales service is second to none :-)

Purchased the Xtrend ET9200 and received it yesterday. Have to say it is a fantastic receiver, runs like a dream. Remote is very responsive, it looks great, PiP works great. Waiting on my HDD being delivered so cant comment on timeshift, recording etc just yet.

I am using the latest ViX image on it and what a excellent image it is. Normally when I get a new Enigma receiver I have to go through loads of images before finding the right one. First image I tried on this receiver and have not tried any other, dont plan to as it works so well, also I normally install Cool TV Guide didnt need to as ViX epg is similar but much more stable.

Bro, do you know if the VU Ultimo will do 1080p playback of eg an .mkv file using the autoresolution plugin?

                              cheers
