Premier League warns pubs against using foreign set top boxes
Like I mentioned before. Put the pub logo on a shirt and go to a Televised game, run onto the pitch to get on TV and then sue the PL for showing the pub logo
The european courts have all ready said you can not copyright live sport. The shirt logo is part of the live game. This is in my opinion ,why they have added the on screen logo. As this is not part of the live game. lets see where it all go on the 24th feb.

i don't think it's a matter of live or not....it's a matter of the rights to broadcast the game whether it be live or prerecorded.
you need to have rights to screen in public places and that is that.
the thing is all countries have a broadcaster with the rights to broadcast epl within that country. simple. but it gets complicated because the eurozone is like one country....so where is the boder to restrict where one broadcaster can broadcast and the other can't

At the moment its theoretically wherever the rights holders decide. In theory, there's nothing to stop a rights holder dictating that an event could only be shown in one particular location. The granularity of control is really only inhibited by the broadcast media used for distribution. If a medium allows extremely fine control then the rights holders are at liberty to use that control. Rights holders ultimately have full control over their works.
Unfortunately, I have doubts that the ECJ rulings on the copyright status of live sports will stand as they effectivley go against many international treaties already signed by every EU country. It may come down to the EU being blacklisted for many world sporting events where the rights holders have and wish to maintain total control of distribution. We may end up in a very strange situation where sporting events 'maunfactured' inside the EU cant be copyrighted but those from outside the EU can - a situation I dont think could be maintained for a prolonged period.
The problems here are far more complex than a bit of football and whether or not the EPL has the rights to control a product.

personaly i prefare to watch MOTOR BIKE RACING a proper sport but have to put up with football when i go to the club because they all winge if they put motor bikes on instead of cricket ot golf
ITV4 usually shows it. Highlights of the same day's racing.
There is chat of live coverage, but it would be extremely difficult to do, have you ever been to the TT? It's the most extaordinary event you will ever visit, been about seven times for the full fortnight, usually to marshal.
Anyway, way off topic now, pm me for any info on real road races

The European court said that while live matches were not protected by copyright, any surrounding media, such as any opening video sequence, the Premier League anthem, pre-recorded films showing highlights of recent Premier League matches and various graphics, were "works" protected by copyright.
To use any of these extra parts associated for a broadcast, a pub would need the permission of the Premier League.
Seems like they just about have every exit covered.
I think ur missing my point, the euro court ruling states that the EPL have no copyright during a live game so therefore even with their logos on the players shirts you can't be in breach of a copyright infringement during a live game.
Just turn on when the game starts, off for half time, then back on for the second half then off at the end.
No highlights, no logos, no sound tracks and no copyright infringement
They won't accept that when they catch a pub showing non-Sky EPL, their logos are everywhere for that very reason.
I don't like it much, but these are meticulous people, and have set traps all over the screen.
Watch what happens, the trap is set and everyone is well warned.
