This could continue until the rights become available for auction again in 2013.

All existing subscribers of Viasat (who live in a country Viasat broadcast to) have the option of watching the games live on Viasat's website player.

This has changed the 'game' completely. I am intrigued as to what's going to happen.

it looks as though viasat are getting round their own subscribers by showing all the games on viaplay, which i would imagine is similar to sky go. i suppose anyone with a legit sub could sign up if you can translate the instructions.
      beat me to it cris808!!!

This was always likely to happen when Viaplay became available, although it is only in the Nordic area.
There is no Viaplay option in the baltic region yet.

you need to be in that country though & have an ISP from that country so you couldn't simply apply from abroad.

I just wonder if C/S will still work , i rather think it won't unless they can send the Viaplay feed though somehow.

I think we are going to have 15 months of this crap now until the next rights are up for grabs & even then we can still have this same crap from the Premier League.

Isnt the new rights deal up for renewal this year in April? Not in 15 months?

just looking at tv 2 pl hd channels and they seem to be showing 3 games on their 3 channels at 3pm.

sunderland V liverpool , chelsea V stoke, Aston Villa V Fulham.

also i see that you can most of the games by looking at different providers.....so it's not as bad asit seems

interesting i can see this getting very very messy in the courts no big tv provider is going to let epl get away with this id they paid money to show coverage then told they cant show it hmmmm breach of contract perhaps?

in the end people buy sat for epl a lot the pubs exploited it now every1 has to suffer for it

in the end theres a way around everything it just has to be found the exploited

Top clubs face lower TV rights over clampdown on European broadcasters showing 3pm kick-offs
The Premier League is in the process of shutting down European broadcasters? access to Saturday 3pm kick-offs to protect its ?closed window? in the UK, in a move that threatens to reduce clubs? revenues from overseas broadcast rights.

                              Big mistake by EPL

I can see 2 things happen here

                              1) Foreign channels will only show the top 5 clubs in the EPL some may even pick 1 team that they want to show all season.

                              2) If income drops as no one will pay the amounts that have been paid so far without 3pm games then clubs may decide to start selling there own TV rights.

Seems a bit strange in the commercial world of business for a company to pass up 100's of Millions just for the sake of stopping 3pm games being shown.

Clubs will say F@@k you to the premier league we don't need you to sell our tv rights anymore we will do it ourselves. The only reason they have been left too it is because so far they have been very successful.

I can see an increase in proxy servers being launched giving access to the streams.
